Locking Hardware For Aluminum Hurricane-certified Bi-Folding Doors

Lanai Doors™ locking hardware is an integral component of the security, functionality and quality of the Lanai hurricane bi-folding system. Lanai's system and its custom components have been tested and designed to withstand extremely high wind loads and water infiltration, to lead the industry in air infiltration, and to meet forced entry standards. See our testing results here.

Lanai Doors™ folding aluminum systems are built with multi-point locking hardware. In 2007, Lanai developed a custom style four-point locking system for action doors and matching custom two-point twin-bolt system. Action door panels utilize the four-point lock so that you have accessibility from either inside or outside. Just lift the door handle to engage the shoot bolts which securely penetrate up into the frame header and down into the shoot-bolt cup mounted in the sill or your finished floor. The two-point lock is utilized to securely lock other door panels. Pull in on the hinge handle and turn the twin-bolt lock handle 45 degrees to engage the two shoot bolts. Because of its low-profile matching handle, the two-point handle does not get in the way of other panels when you open our system.

The Lanai Doors™ custom locking system includes stainless steel wrap-around strike plates that protect the frame jamb or strike door finishes; one-inch deep deadbolt dust cups for a clean quality look; custom molded internal shoot bolt guides putting the shoot bolt tips exactly where you want them; and custom molded single and double shoot bolt cups to professionally secure your system. Attention to detail is what you can expect from a Lanai Doors™ bi-folding system.

The internal mechanism for both the door handle and twin bolt are hidden from sight within the hollow of the door stile for a cleaner look. Door handle finishes are brushed chrome, satin chrome, and white to match our standard white paint color and bronze to match our bronze hinges. Every four-point locking system is keyed entry from the outside while the two-point locking system is not accessible from the outside, but has the option of a keyed lock. The keyed two-point locking system restricts others from opening the system without approval.

While designing your Lanai Doors™ aluminum bifolding system, keep in mind optional paint, hinge and door handle finishes. Lanai is flexible and encourages you to choose finishes that enhance your system and flows with other fenestration product decisions. As an example, you may choose a white painted finish with stainless steel hinges and brushed chrome door handle. Obviously, you could choose matching twin-bolts, or you could pick our white twin-bolts which will blend in more with the door painted surface. Similar approach would apply to bronze anodize systems using bronze twin-bolts. Having this many finishes and allowing you to mix match door and twin-bolt finishes are more examples of why you should select Lanai Doors™.
